I received a copy of this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Then I turned around and bough a copy.This was a really good book. Suspenseful, loads of action, some mystery and a little romance. The kind of book that you don't want to put down until the end. Then when it ends, you wish it had gone on longer.
This is the final story in the trilogy. Max, the oldest, had become an assassin to protect and provide for his siblings, Sabrina and Jake. People from his past had come back seeking revenge. The first attempt on his life caused Max to interact with Gianna, an NYPD police lieutenant.
Gianna's brother becomes involved. Max and Gianna have to work together to save her brother and end Max's problem. A strained relationship grows into something more over time and circumstances. No insta love in this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.

Hard Stop is another great book in the Hard Targets series written by author Wendy Byrne. I would love to see more stories.
In this book you learn about Max and the decisions he has made in his life for his family. I hope Wendy writes more books in the same thread as I thoroughly enjoyed it! I read it in one day.
I just finished Hard to Stop a Hard Targets novel and gave it 4 stars. The characters were realistic, the plot was well-drawn and suspenseful, and this was the perfect ending to this fascinating trilogy.
Max Shaw has a date with destiny and her name is Gianna. Can a man with his past have a normal life? Not with the price on his head and no police that can help. Not sure where the Shaw's will go from here but it has been an interesting trip. If you missed Sabrina and Jake's books get them now.
I downloaded Hard to Stop this morning and couldn't put it down until I finished. Max turned out to be my favorite Shaw sibling. There were times I found Detective Gianna Collini a trifle unlikeable and annoying but I learned to like her by the end of the book. I strongly recommend this book to anything who enjoys getting immersed in a good read.
The pace is set at the beginning......and I certainly couldn't figure out what was behind the assassin's way of life........the policewoman's brother, Mick, is in the middle of many problems......and how she finds her partner in getting him out.......and her in his bed......are fast moving scenarios. Worth a very good read...
J Good ending to a very good series. What a fun rollercoaster ride of action and suspense. I liked the strong female as well as the more subtle romance. I will look for more from this author.
